A Mountain Landscape Added to Our Member Gallery

Take a minute to admire Linda Bethke’s landscape painting in our Member Gallery. Our members continue to produce wonderful art!

While you are at it, take a look at what our friends in the Fluvanna Art Association are doing. Linda, like possibly many of you, is a member of both groups. In my short time with CVWG, I have enjoyed talking with Linda and hearing about their activities. Linda will lead one of CVWG’s monthly programs next year. Watch our calendar and program pages for details.

“Landscape Meditations”– a Showing by Member Jane Matthews

Jane Matthews is being honored with a showing of some of her landscape paintings at the Arden Place Apartments Clubhouse. A reception is being held this Friday, October 4, 2019 from 5:30 – 7:30 PM. Light refreshments will be served.

Please plan to join Jane at this local show. What a great way to spend a Friday evening especially as our fall temperatures are expected to arrive by then.

The Clubhouse is located at:

1810 Arden Creek Lane
Charlottesville, Virginia

Here’s a map in case you do not know where these apartments are located.

Her paintings will be on display through October.

New Page Added to Feature Our Member-Artists

I am starting a new page on this website to feature our member-artists in a new way. As I get members interested in displaying 5-7 pieces of their art and sharing a bit about their artistic journey, their muse, their artist’s statement, etc., I will publish a web page to feature their works.

For this inaugural Featured Artist page, I have collaborated with Susan Rosen, the winner of our Central Virginia Watercolor Guild Memorial Award at our recent Annual Exhibition. Please take a minute to enjoy Susan’s art and read a bit of her biography,

Please drop me, Mark Fitzpatrick, an email if you are interested in being featured on such a page in the future. Depending on interest, comments, and feedback, I will cycle this page every so often.

Nancy was CVWG’s Juror for our annual exhibition at McGuffey Art Center in Charlottesville (see this post for a view of the winning artworks).
