Etude #17 copy Sue RosenSusan Crave Rosen will be the Featured Artist at the CoArt Gallery for the month of May.  The gallery is located at 22 W. Beverley St. In Staunton.  Hours are Tues. through Thurs., 10am-5pm, Friday, 10am-8pm and Sat., 10am-5pm.

Sue will exhibit some of her new series, “Etudes”.  These works are on canvas, paper or board and are all started with acrylic brayer marks and then embellished with collage, stencils, masking and paint.

Sue will also be giving a presentation on making collage papers for the Beverley Street Studio School at their gallery located at 22W. Beverley St., Staunton.  This will be on April 23, from 12:30-1:30pm as a part of the series “Conversations About Art.”


Spitzer Art Center 2018 6x6x30 Exhibition

croppedYou may be aware of an exhibition the Spitzer Art Center in Harrisonburg has held for the past several years. 2018’s exhibit information is attached and I hope you are able to come and enjoy this unique and entertaining exhibition.

This is one of my favorite area art events because of the variety of subjects artists create. There are 29 artists who have created an amazing variety of results and I am always fascinated to see each year’s turnout.

I am fortunate enough to have been selected to participate again this year and I chose the subject of “Flowerful” as my inspiration. All of my little paintings are of a variety of floral subjects. Great fun!!!!!

Here are the basics:

Opening Reception: March 2nd, 2018

Location: Virginia Mennonite Retirement Community, Park Gables Gallery, Harrisonburg

Time: Opening Reception from 5:00pm – 8:00pm

VMRC Hours: Sunday through Saturday, 10:00am – 7:00pm, throughout the month of March

BSSS trip to Baltimore
