Call for Entries– CVWG’s Small Works Exhibit

The Crozet Artisan Depot has selected CVWG to be part of its Featured Artist Program this September.  This program provides an opportunity for our member artists to display and sell their work in a professional setting that promotes quality work.

The Depot gallery hopes to host a “Meet the Artists” reception but that is still undetermined at this time. The Depot gallery will also promote their Featured Artist Events in online and print media including area newspapers and event calendars, and in their monthly e-newsletter.

Dates & Location:

September 1 -September 30, 2020

Crozet Artisans Depot
Located in the historic Crozet Train Depot
5791 Three Notch’d Road
Crozet, VA 22932
434-205-4795

Eligible Works:

  • Paintings in all media by CVWG members only
  • Framed size in any direction not to exceed 14”
  • All works must be framed and wired for hanging
  • All works must be for sale with 70% of the sale going to the artist

Entry Procedure:

A maximum of 28 entries will be accepted to hang. The accepted paintings will be the first 28 people who contact Linda Verhagen, 434-977-9469. Please provide your name, email and phone number. There will be a waiting list after the first 28.

If you are among the first 28 to apply, you will be emailed a contract with the Crozet Artisans Depot to be filled out and signed. The signed contract should be returned to Linda by July 1. If there are any unsigned contracts after this date, those on the waiting list will be notified.

Also by July 1 each of the entrants is required to send Linda Verhagen information about their paintings:

  • Artist Name;
  • Title of the Artwork;
  • Media; and
  • Price

An inventory list will be made from this information and given to the Gallery along with the contracts.

Artists interested in possibly having their painting as part of the promotion for the show should email a high resolution photo of their art to Linda Verhagen. The photo should include only the image with no frame showing.

Delivery and Pick Up:

All paintings are to have a label on the back of the painting with the same information used in the inventory list. Entrants are to personally deliver their paintings to the Crozet Depot on August 31. The times of delivery that day are yet to be determined. Each individual artist is responsible for pick up from the Depot Gallery on September 30. More details to follow.

Sales:

If a painting is sold, the artist is encouraged to replace it as the gallery likes to have a full supply of art for sale.

Entrance Fees:

There is no fee to enter the Small Works Exhibit
