Blue Ridge and Beyond

Blue Ridge and BeyondCVWG member Peg Sheridan writes:

I’ve been painting en plein air with a group of friends every week, for the past summer and early fall.  It has been a wonderful experience, and we have all benefited by the practice!  The opening on Saturday, October 14 at the Crozet Art Box will be part of Crozet’s Second Saturday receptions, with an ice cream social!  Also, it is a great place to buy art supplies.  The staff there is very knowledgeable and helpful….The show runs from Sept. 29-Oct. 30.

My personal art news is:

  • I will have a piece in the VWS show.
  • I was juried into the Floyd Plein Air Festival in July, and spent a week painting there.  I sold 5 pieces, and won an honorable mention.
  • I won “Best Bath or Highland County Landscape” in the Bath County Art Show.

My class news is:

I have several new classes coming up, which are on my website, The one-day workshop in Waynesboro, “Figures in the Landscape,” is the closest one to Charlottesville.

Click HERE for the info for a trip I am participating in to Provence, France, next May. Sue Rosen brought some flyers to the last meeting for me, and I am happy to say that at least one person from CVWG signed up.  It is a wonderful trip, at a great price.
