Visiting the VWS Show

vws_6[1]The Virginia Watercolor Society’s 35th  annual jurored exhibition is in downtown Lynchburg this year, at the Academy of Fine Arts. Several CVWG members have been to see the show and have been impressed by the quality and diversity of the works.

Ricketts Chee Kludt-3-In the Presence of the Sublime (600x450)CVWG members Donna Ramsey Nevers, Patrice Reese, Chee Kludt Ricketts, Susan Crave Rosen and Linda Verhagen have work on display.

Chee Ricketts received an Award of Distinction for her painting “In the Presence of the Sublime” (right). Congratulations Chee!

Our guild sponsored a $200 award that was given to Bob Haynes for “Great Blue Heron” (below).vws_5[1]

The exhibit is up through the end of June, and it well worth a visit.  Not far from the Academy of Arts is another “must-see” art destination–the Maier Museum at Randolph College. They have a fine collection of American masters.

  1. I have gone to see the exhibit twice and it was WELL WORTH IT!! I’m so inspired and challenged by this wonderful collection of work!

  2. My Husband and I visited the exhibit and as usual it was fabulous. Congrats to all the CVWG members who were accepted. I plan to go again before it leaves. I am always inspired and awed at the talent around us. Mary Ann
